Sweatpant tech pack template

A sweatpant brief with waist, rise, inseam and leg-opening points. You enter the values. The template does not grade them.

A blank template does not prescribe measurements, fabric weights or tolerances. Example values below are illustrative.

What goes in your sweatpant brief?

01

Body, waistband and cuffs

List the main fabric, waistband, leg cuff and any drawcord separately. A drawcord row is only a prompt. Remove it if you are not using one.

02

Leg measurements

Waist width, hip, rise, inseam, outseam, thigh, knee, leg opening and cuff height start blank. Describe your own method if it differs from the glossary.

03

Pockets only if you have them

The side-pocket row does not require a pocket. Delete it, or describe the pocket in your own words without inventing a position.

04

Tolerances you have agreed

Blank means unconfirmed. The PDF will not turn a blank into zero.

Before you send it

Review unknown fields, record changes, and ask the factory to confirm open questions. A tech pack communicates your intent; sample approval remains a separate decision.

Factory reading guide

This reading guide explains the PDF. It does not add measurements, materials, tolerances or color standards, and it does not translate the specifications above.

Style number, document version and date identify this file. A later file replaces this one only when you receive that new version.

Blank cells and the words “To confirm” mean the detail is unknown. They are not zero and they are not a default.

Each measurement cell is a value and a tolerance. The tolerance applies only when both are filled in. Units are cm or in, as written.

Questions marked Open still need an answer. Questions marked Confirmed only record what is already written in this file.

Colorways, when this file includes them, list a color name, an optional #RRGGBB hex reference and notes. No color-standard library is included.

Images are visual references. Use the written placement and construction notes for positions. This file is not a sewing pattern, a graded size chart or a production approval.

How to fill in your sweatpant sample brief

  1. Upload front and back views of the pant. Use construction notes for the waistband, pockets and any detail the drawing does not show.
  2. Enter only the fabric and trim specifications you already have. Leave the rest blank.
  3. Add a column for each size and fill the points your factory needs. Save the draft before you export.

Does this include a pant pattern or graded sizes?

No. The line drawing is a visual reference. Inseam, rise and thigh values are empty on a blank template. Enter confirmed measurements or leave them for your pattern maker and factory.

What if I do not know the waistband or pocket yet?

Leave the fields blank and record an open question. Removing a pocket row is better than writing a position you have not decided.

Colorways and the factory reading guide

Add colorway rows only for colors you want to name: a color name, an optional #RRGGBB value and notes. There is no Pantone library. Leave the list empty and the PDF omits the section. The export can add an English, Chinese or bilingual reading guide and a short measurement glossary. The guide explains the file. It does not translate your specifications or fill blank measurements.
